MapThatPad Updates: Introducing Search, Point of Interest, and Table View
Always listening to our users and always improving our product; that's what we strive to. So we're proud to introduce some new features that helps our users with their apartment hunting.
First up is search. We know folks look on various websites as they search for a new apartment online. So far, users have been going to listing sites, searching for listings, and pasting the listing URL or using our bookmarklet to save it into MapThatPad. To make the process a little more seamless, we have added some basic search filters that brings folks to the results pages on listing sites. No matter where you're looking for an apartment in the US, you can search on Craigslist, but if you are looking in NYC, you can also search on UrbanEdge and RentHop.
Next is the point of interest feature. When you are looking to move to a new place, there tends to be a point - work or school - that anchors your search. For some crazy foodies it could be their favorite restaurant. Now, you can add this point of interest onto your map (blue pin) to help you easily compare where different listings fall in comparison. The listings are also automatically sorted by distance to the spot.
Lastly, we've added an expanded table view. All your listing info is visible and ordered here. Folks who prefer to manage their hunt in this view (add listings, notes, appointments etc.) are welcome to. When minimized, it's a great way to compare and contrast different listings quickly.
Embrace the hunt! Let us know what you think and what else you'd like to see.
